Equipment

  • 1 Medium Mixing Bowl
  • 1 Small Airtight Container or Jar (something that will hold about 1/2 cup of mix)

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Ground Ginger
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut, Date, or Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Black Pepper (optional)
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Powder (optional)

Instructions

  • To make the golden milk mix, place turmeric powder, cinnamon, ground ginger, and sweetener into a medium mixing bowl. If desired, add black pepper for extra spice or vanilla powder for a more toned down flavor. The vanilla tempers the turmeric a little, so go this route if you prefer a more muted flavor. I went spicy this time! But I like it both ways, honestly. Whisk all ingredients together thoroughly in the bowl.
  • Once mixed, place into an airtight jar for storing. This will keep for about 3-4 months, or longer in the refrigerator.
  • To make a hot Golden Milk, stir 2 tsp of mix into 2oz of heated milk or milk alternative. Don't skip this step! This will help the spices blend evenly into the milk. Once mixed into a paste, add 6oz (or more depending on taste) of milk to fill the cup. Stir to fully combine.
  • To make a cold or iced Golden Milk, stir 2 tsp of mix into a bit of water or cold milk, blending it together, before adding ice and filling with milk or milk alternative.
